Sonya Shell, singer-songwriter, has performed throughout the Atlanta Georgia area for the last five years.

She delivers a personable performance with her strong, rich, bluesy vocals. Her vocal style has been influenced by a wide range of artists including KT Oslin, Anne Murray, Bonnie Raitt, and Stevie Nicks. On her songwriting, she says she became a fan of Mary Chapin Carpenter after seeing her perform in the early 90’s on Austin City Limits. Sonya’s debut CD “Still in Love” is her first independently released album of songs she has written along with one tune co-written with songwriter Kacee Jones of Marietta.

Scheduled for release in November 2002, this collection of songs speaks on the theme of love. The songs are stories that are sure to pull some heart strings. Recorded with producer Harry O’Brien of Atlanta Recording Studio, known for his platinum recording with the group “Tag Team” in the ‘80’s, O’Brien also produced "In the Christmas Spirit,", a CD of holiday favorites for Sonya’s first project in 1999.

Her performances have included corporate events, local restaurants, private parties, weddings and receptions, fundraisers, political rallies and charity events. Sonya is an active music volunteer for area retirement communities in Atlanta. She also supports the Susan G. Komen Foundation for Breast Cancer and the United Way of Metro Atlanta.

Sonya is a member of the Georgia Music Industry Association and ASCAP.
