July 2003

A Summer update! June was a busy month to say the least! Thanks to everyone for coming out to all the events/ especially the Cobb County Rodeo; we had a blast!

There were some notable first times for me in June that I certainly enjoyed. It was the first time I ever performed at a Rodeo much less for 2500 people! The first time I got a chance to play some of my own original music in a huge arena with a professional running the sound, and it was the first time I ever performed the National Anthem. This was an incredible opportunity. My picture even made the Marietta Daily Journal which definitely was the icing on the cake. Thanks again to ESS Entertainment for doing a fantastic job on the sound and thanks to my drummer, Brian Stephens, owner and producer of Sound Decision Studios who found them for me on such short notice. Thanks to Johnny Woodard, owner of Johnny's BarBQ in Powder Springs, and Larry Haney, promoters for rodeo who gave me the opportunity to be part of their event!

Houcks Restaurant was a first time gig for June. Located at the corner of Johnson Ferry and Paper Mill Rd., owners Lee and Marleen have been providing a venue for great musicians for many years. Banks and Shane, Mike Veal and the DeVilles, Mama Ruths Kitchen, are just a few acts who have entertained there. Music on the deck is seasonal and that's where I fit in. The deck is a great hangout place and they even have a stage for their performers; imagine that! I enjoyed singing there and hope to be back sometime in August.

Kids Chance, Inc is non-profit organization that I have become involved with; they provide educational scholarships for kids whose parents have been injured on lost their lives on the job. The FunFest was in June at the Georgia International Horse Park and I headlined their entertainment for the afternoon; thanks to Joan Bauch of Concentra and Cheryl Oelhafen of Kids Chance of Georgia for inviting me to be a part of their event!

La Parilla, Alpharetta will be having me back the end of July; see the calendar for more details; this is a great place located right off 400 North at Windward Pkwy and Alpharetta highway/ It's a lot closer to home for me and hopefully we can get some of you to come out from the north and east sides of town! Look to see you all there!

Thanks again for your support! Have a great summer!
